May I welcome all the new participants and thank you all for your great contributions and your honesty on this forum. Although I have been involved with ASA for the last 17 years, I learn new things everyday from you.

As you may have seen on our website we are holding our 2nd National Conference - Living Side by Side - Connecting with people on the Autism Spectrum in February next year from 16th to 18th February 2012 which also includes the International Asperger Day. We have received many call for paper responses which we are processing at the moment.

Behind the scenes we also need to think about some merchandise for the event. We have a badge maker in the office and we thought we would like to make up heaps of badges. We would like to invite you to come up with some awesome wording for them.

You can see one design on our home page (the coloured ball) for the International Asperger Day Badge.

The badge is 7 cm in diametre so there is a limitation of words that fit on it, depending on font. I have had a look at some on the Internet, but I thought I asked you and am hoping that you would like to be involved in this task.

I would prefer to keep this thread going with your suggestions.

Ok I have been thinking on what could be on a badge, and I have removed the cheekier and ruder things from the list

That leaves me with a short list

This is a start anyway

I thought of a couple this morning.....

"I'm as A.S. as!" (Expressed as though you are saying, " I'm as Asperge'rs as they come. But the humour is in the multiple "as"s.)

And my favorite so far....

"N.T.s.....you'll never, never know"





(The is a play on words from the old Northern Territory tourism campaign from a few years ago, that said "NT - You'll never, never know, if you never, never go.") In this case the NT stands for Neuro-Typical and the fact that they will never, never know what it is like to have Asperger's.
