Geraldine Robertson - From Can’t to Can – Learning to Lead
Autistic people are present in careers in all walks of life. Often they are an invisible presence, struggling to survive by “pretending to be normal”. Geraldine describes a professional journey from the perspective of personal failure and struggle to leadership, by using personal strengths to support areas of need.
Geraldine Robertson - Bio
Geraldine Robertson has been a teacher since 1989. After her diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome in 2000, Geraldine was able to begin to use her strengths as an Autistic to improve her life and career. Geraldine is passionate about self advocacy and helping to improve the lives of people on the Autism Spectrum. Geraldine supports Autistics in her roles as Team Leader and Acting Assistant, by providing in school support for parents, students and teachers. In addition, she speaks both nationally and internationally, using personal experience to enrich professional understanding of education issues for Autistics.
