Lauren Large - Bio

Attending Autism Queensland’s 2010 Symposium was a big turning point for Lauren. Life finally began to make sense after hearing Professor Tony Attwood speak on females on the Autism Spectrum. After consultations and an assessment from Dr Wendy Lawson, it was confirmed that Lauren was indeed on the Spectrum, and the journey of self-discovery began! Lauren will share her story from a quiet, sensitive school girl, through to the teenage years battling an eating disorder. Other topics such as joining the workforce, masking social deficits, depression, anxiety and having her own family will also be covered. The past year has been one of great discovery and finally ... some answers. Lauren now has a new passion – to spread the word on females on the Autism Spectrum and to give hope to other women struggling to come to terms with who they are.
